Glossy Green Beetle - Cicindela sexguttata

Glossy Green Beetle - Cicindela sexguttata
Davison, Genesee County, Michigan, USA
May 19, 2013
Size: About 3/4"
Picked up beetle to examine and photograph. I think it was trying to bite me, so I put it down and photographed it on concrete. Found in early afternoon on a warm (80F), sunny day.

Cicindela sexguttata
This is Cicindela sexguttata. They readily bite if you pick them up, but it's just a little pinch. Only the biggest species have the potential to break the skin in the right place.

Definitely a tiger beetle of some sort.
I'm thinking the six spotted tiger beetle.
