Seaside Grasshopper-erythristic morph? - Trimerotropis maritima - male - female

Seaside Grasshopper-erythristic morph? - Trimerotropis maritima - Male Female
Presque Isle State Park, Erie County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 4, 2006
Size: about 40 mm
This grasshopper was found in sandy, sparsely vegetated shoreline habitat. At one point, it interacted with a normally-marked Seaside Grasshopper (Trimerotropis maritima), flashing and signaling with the hind femora. Perhaps an erythristic Seaside? I've never seen one marked like this though.
