Leafhopper nymph - Glassy-winged Sharpshooter? - Homalodisca vitripennis

Leafhopper nymph - Glassy-winged Sharpshooter? - Homalodisca vitripennis
San Pedro, California, USA
September 15, 2006
Size: 9.0 mm
This cute little leafhopper, found on an agave leaf in my backyard, looks a lot like this and this, but I see differences between it and the Smoke Tree Sharpshooter. I was amazed to be able to put my TCON-50E one centimeter away from it and take flash photos without provoking it to hop away. While I watched it, it often stretched to one side and then to the other (and seemed to be feeding). (See also high-resolution versions of the photos.)

Could it be anything other than Homalodisca vitripennis?
