Dark-collared Tinea - Tinea apicimaculella

Dark-collared Tinea - Tinea apicimaculella
Columbia, Boone County, Missouri, USA
May 27, 2013
Came to light last night. When viewed from above, has quite a metallic, tan-colored sheen. Not very big, maybe 5-6mm TL. I believe this ID is correct, but if not, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi John,

I thought I might respond here. I also had one of these recently and believe your ID is correct.

I LOVE a repartee but I worry about overburdening the experts with repeated "auto-generated" e-mails, so I try to be careful.

Enjoyed learning from your post.

Ann

Thanks Ann!
I can't believe what a gift it is being able to have experts check out our amateur discoveries. I just wish I had just a bit more knowledge and confidence about the ID'ing I do. Thanks for checking this out. You've got some terrific posts!
