Black & red flying bug - Boisea trivittata

Black & red flying bug - Boisea trivittata
Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA
May 29, 2013
Size: 13mm
I've been seeing these all over the yard lately. They also seem to like to hang out by my front door. I've never seen this many if this insect. I'm not sure if they're something I should "take care of" or if I can simply leave them alone (my preferred option). What I've been able to find i think it may be a box elder. They appear to be red under their wings when they open them to fly.
