Sphecidae wasp w/ spider

Sphecidae wasp w/ spider
Side Lake, St. Louis County, Minnesota, USA
May 29, 2013
Size: 2 cm
I saw dozens of these today, one other with spider prey. They seemed distinctly smaller than the blue mud daubers I sometimes see. There may have been two species present, one smaller. The area had sandy soils, in a clearcut, now with many small patches lacking vegetation.

Given the prey...
...Pompilidae seems more likely.
