Orchard Orbweaver? Don't quite match? -
Leucauge venusta
My yard, Orange County, North Carolina, USA
September 17, 2006
Size: 1/4 inch
Seems too slightly marked to be either Leucauge venusta or Plesiometa argyra. Any suggestions?

Leucauge argyra
Looks like this to me check this out. I am no spider expert but it looks like another species in this genus. Also see the comments on Info in the genus.

No, we would say this is correct as venusta
argyra has a different dorsal pattern. See
The dark lines are straight in venusta while they jog inward in argyra

Please,
According to the instructions: "For consistency, please do not include any borders or other decorations around your image."
You probably can correct that here and don't put frames in the future, please.

image borders
Beatriz,
FYI those borders are my copyright and no images go any where on the net without them. All the images I have produced in the past 4 years have those drop shadowed boarders with my copyright.
So then your telling me not to post images to bugguide?

A simple reminder
I don't make the decisions around here; I was just reminding you of the instructions. Some people stopped placing borders when they were made aware of this. You do whatever you want.
Very nice images and valuable contributions, BTW.
