I think this is a crescent or checkerspot, but it is not familiar to me. It looks somewhat worn and faded.

Gorgeous aberration! I've seen fritillaries with expanded dark areas like this, but never a pearl crescent... Great find!

This is an extreme aberration of a typical Pearl crescent
I always wonder at the luck of some people to find amazing aberrant specimens of butterflies, and I've been collecting for 6 years and have not seen any aberrant specimens of this abundant species!
