Found out front of my house - Araneus diadematus

Almost 2" in lenght and the girth at least 1/2".

I have never seen spiders this big in my area before. Does this species belong in the GTA? Found in the early morning, during the day it retreats in the bush. Has an elaborate spiral web spanning about 2' in dia. main ties span at least 6' from a bush to the wall of my house.
