slimy caterpillar - Caliroa cerasi

slimy caterpillar - Caliroa cerasi
Medina County, Ohio, USA
i don't even know how i realized this thing was living. its so tiny and there are many of them on the same bush. they look like a tiny black slug but they have gold-ish colored sticky feet underneath them like many caterpillars do.

i'd be stunned if anyone can ID it. my macro setting isn't good enough to get a close up.

"Pear Slug"...
That is a "Pear Slug", the larvae of the Pear Sawfly (Caliroa cerasi).

thank you so much.
