i've never seen one of these before. i saved it from my cat and kitten who were quite interested in it. does this have a nasty bite by chance?

after looking at the guide and seeing that the common name is Marbled Orbweaver, i'm stunned. i love these spiders and had no idea that they are so skinny at first. thanks for teaching me something new today!

 
You're
welcome, but your spider is typical for an adult male and it's abdomen will probably get smaller unless it has the opportunity to steal food from a female. Not all adult male spiders capture their own prey resulting in a short life after maturity.
