Micropezidae? - Hoplocheiloma totliana

Micropezidae? - Hoplocheiloma totliana
Fort Lauderdale County, Florida, USA
September 18, 2006
I have been seeing these flies again, took some shots which were much better than the one I posted a while back. It looks just like the Stilt legged flies (Micropezidae) So I leave it up to you pros to tell me if there is a species or if it even is Mircopezid. This is photo 1 of 5 of the same individual feeding on a leaf. I just love the little white gloves.. looks like it was a formal dinner on that leaf! LOL

Thanks,
Charles

Moved from Taeniapterinae.

Moved from Stilt-legged Flies.

Moved from Acalyptratae.

You are probably right
Too bad that nobody answered you yet, I would move them anyway, at least to Acalyptratae if you are not absolutely sure that they are Micropezidae.

about moving
Thanks for the answer Beatriz, I don't really know how to move my images and I kind of don't want to overstep any boundries since I am really new to this and prone to mistakes in ID's, so what is the protcol for moving?

About moving
You tag the images to be moved and you will see the thumbnails at the upper left corner; then go to the corresponding page and click on: move tagged images. The safe thing is to move them to the taxon that you are absolutely sure of, that is why I suggested Acalyptratae (in case we are wrong about Micropezidae). Actually it is very helpful if you move your own images after they have been IDed or if you are sure of the taxon, it saves the editors a lot of time and it places them where visiting specialists are more likely to see them.
Let me know if you have any trouble.
