Ambush Bug - Phymata - Phymata fasciata

Ambush Bug - Phymata - Phymata fasciata
Gainesville, Florida, USA
This little creature was incidentally on a flower that I picked to stage a shot with a moth. It remained there all day until I discovered it lazily moving around. Their strategy is to perch on flowers until small insects like flies, moths, thrips, etc., venture to feed, grabbing their prey like praying mantids. If anyone knows the species, please let me know. Thanks.

Species hard to determine in Phymata, helpful link
I've had no luck with these. There's some long-standing taxonomic confusion as well. There's a big reference, catalogue of the Hemiptera of the United States and Canada, and I remember it does have a list of the species, but no key. It tries to straighten out some names, I remember, based on priority.

There is a key to Florida species published as a pdf:
Florida adult Phymatidae (Ambush bugs). I don't know how useful it will be.
