Stink Bug - Banasa dimiata

Stink Bug - Banasa dimiata
Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
August 23, 2004
A beautifully marked stink bug photographed in my backyard. I'll have to do some homework to see if I can narrow it down to genus...

Possibilities
Nice shot. Probably a species of Thyanta or Banasa. You can try starting there anyway.

Banasa
Eric,

Thanks for the lead, looks like it may be of the Banasa genus. Check out this Insect Identifucation Guide for Quebec. The third image down looks pretty close to this one (especially the white mark on the scutellum).
