unknown black and white bee -
Melissodes bimaculatus
Allen, Collin County, Texas, USA
June 14, 2013
Size: less than 1cm.
This little black and white bee seemed to be settling down on a cattail leaf for the evening. I think it was under a half inch long.

Please forgive my ignorance of the bees and also of the process. I see the images have been moved from ID request to "Long Horned Bees, Eucerini." Is it possible to narrow down the ID any further? I realize the images are not very good. Thanks!

It's definitely possible to narrow this down
I commented in your other photo with a candidate species. Unfortunately this group of bees is difficult and thus I do not attempt to place bees that are not from SoCal into genus.
If you would like, you can move this back to the Bees section
http://bugguide.net/node/view/8267
, where my mentor Dr. Ascher will likely give you a species ID confirmation.
Good luck! :)

Thank you! I won't need to move it anywhere. Oddly enough, I guess your comment wasn't showing when I checked both photos before, but it is now. Another friend outside of bugguide weighed in in the meantime, and her suggestion was also Melissodes bimaculata. I appreciate your help.
