a female great grig
In the photo you can just barely make out a small patch of orange on the tergite just aft of the wing buds - this is a stridulatory (sound-producting) apparatus called the Ander's organ found only in Cyphoderris monstrosa. I also just collected several great grigs in Pemberton over the past several evenings (all males and positively id'ed by the subgenital plate).
