I found this Luna moth clinging to a plant stalk next to a cluster of brown spheres (maybe eggs???)

What kind of plant stalk?
I have raised Luna Moths many years ago but forgot how its eggs looked, but according to this image they are brown at the time of hatching, whether also when fresh is another question. However, I can't make out from your photo whether the "stalks" were of a shrub or tree where I would expect the moth to deposit eggs on. Somehow they don't look like that to me.

plant stalk
boy, I really don't know. It was a grassy/weedy plant near the wooded perimeter of a large meadow. Came out with a few ticks so I won't be in there again soon. Big meadow, just stumbled upon the moth, probably can't find the same place...
