Oregon click beetle - Alaus melanops
Rt 3, Paradise, Wallowa County, Oregon, USA

Size: 30mm
We stopped by the side of the road, where we saw some native wildflowers, and we saw this guy fly in over the road and land in the grass. We assume this is melanops.

along with a third specimen that we didn't photograph because we found it dead sitting in a cherry bush. Thanks, J&J
