Nose-butted spider - Cyclosa turbinata

Nose-butted spider - Cyclosa turbinata
Herndon, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
September 17, 2006
I see surprising things when i look at my images blown up on the monitor for the first time! I didn't see the big "nose" on the back of this spider until just now on my computer. I'm sure that'll give someone a clue what it is, but I don't know, myself...

Moved from Cyclosa conica.

I'm not sure if this is conica or turbinata. Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference?

I would guess Cyclosa conica.
I would guess Cyclosa conica.

Thanks
that looks right! Mine did have the "trashline" as well, and the web shape looks the same.
