Albuna pyramidalis female
I agree too, the individual is a typical fireweed clearwing female.

Probably ?? 2533 - Fireweed Clearwing Moth - Albuna pyramidalis
Lovely photo of a "difficult" moth, coloration varies enormously from almost all black to just about the pattern seen here. Wings with the red edging are found in "forms" that have been called "montana" and "rubescens," but which the authors of MONA Fascicle 5.1 (Eichlin and Duckworth, 1988) seem to play down as variation within the species. A second opinion would be good to have.

Thanks, Bob.
Fireweed Clearwing would make sense. There is plenty of fireweed in the area.
