Cottonwood Borer
Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I found one of these interesting insects in my backyard tonight (July 1st), and I was looking at your information about it and I wanted to let you know that I live in the Southeast, Mississippi to be exact.

Cottonwood Borer

Wow. Apparently we don't have these in my area--too bad. (Cottonwoods are rare here, unlike in Oklahoma.)
