Mantis-Lookin' Blues - Gonatista grisea - male

Mantis-Lookin' Blues - Gonatista grisea - Male
Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia, USA
June 28, 2013
Three photographs will be attached to this post. This bug was loitering about my back door around 10:00 pm on Friday 28 June 2013 (Valdosta, Georgia), just under the patio light. Reminds me terribly of a mantis, but I've never seen one like this. I know very little about the mantis. For example, I don't really know how to make that plural. Mantae? Mantes? Probably Mantes. Regardless, I'm at a loss with this one. Any ideas? It was just over an inch and a half from the tip of the head to the tip of the wings. Sorry I don't have metric. Help would be greatly appreciated!
