Predatory Fungus Fly - Proceroplatus

Predatory Fungus Fly - Proceroplatus
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
June 30, 2013
Size: BL≈3-4mm
Looks like a fly made from spare parts, including Derb*d wings and Pyralid legs. This looks like something created in PhotoShop :)

Moved to Proceroplatus
Moved from ID Request.

LOL Thanks, John. Since I started shooting with MP-E, I see so much more detail, I don't even recognize some of my older shots :)
Robert

Keroplatidae
Keroplatidae. Something like

Keroplatidae/Mycetophilidae
something along those lines

One Piece at a Time.
I know you didn't do it in PhotoShop. You'd have made it look more realistic.

Diverse Mimic
A fly built by the A-Team to mimic anything

...or nothing.
pretty obvious hoax.. I don't know if I'd call this an "A-team"....

How dare you!
Bob is the most serious minded person on this whole forum..he would never perpetuate a hoax..i personally have seen many flies just like this. Yukon jack rules!

Thank you, Edna
Hemberger and I do love to kibitz :)

But I back right down...
...when he points his 62mm Canon my way.

"pretty obvious hoax?"
You'd do well to know what you're talking about, before making such a bold accusation!

ah yes, well,
Now I'm clued in! Ya got me! ha!

Thank you
