Wasp - Tiphia

Wasp - Tiphia
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
September 25, 2006
I've seen this wasp(?) several times in the past few weeks. Can't really tell much about its behavior except that it usually just lands on some leaves and seems to be searching for other insects.

Tiphiidae.
This is actually a tiphiid wasp in the genus Tiphia, probably a female.
