I've heard glue traps work well. In addition it's also affective to seal any cracks around floors, doors, windows, foundation, plumbing conduits etc. Vacuum everywhere and empty the canister outside. Keep the perimeter of the home free of debris and trim branches away from the roof.

Loxosceles
This is definitely Loxosceles. You can see the well defined fiddle pattern. But whether this is L. reclusa or another of the browns, I'm not sure. Given your location, the chances of it being anything other than a Brown Recluse (Loxosceles reclusa) are probably small.

Nice find in any case.
