The two genera are easily told apart:
Omoglymmius has the elytral striae strongly punctate and the lateral grooves of the pronotum long
Clinidium has the elytral striae not or indistinctly punctate and the lateral grooves present only on basal half
Habitat
Dead, often very moist, wood; both hardwoods and conifers are used
