Found this beetle crawling on my front door frame about a month ago. My suspicion is that it is a clerid of some sort, but failing to find a match for it so far...

I do believe you are correct
Tom Murray's guide to New England and New York insects somehow skipped this entire family! Eric Eaton's has the family but not the species. Sooooooo many beetles....
