Large Mating Insects - Mydas clavatus - Male Female
Fort McCoy Barrens, Monroe County, Wisconsin, USA

Found in a sand barrens. These insects were large and sometimes when they flied I could see a bright red/orange color exposed below the wings.

Thanks, it appears they aren't in the database for Wisconsin yet. I thought they were flies but could not find any matches.
