Not a Brown Recluse...right? - Pisaurina

Not a Brown Recluse...right? - Pisaurina
Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, USA
July 9, 2013
I just found this scene in my boxwoods by my bay window. Does anyone know what kind of spiders I am dealing with? Please tell me it's not a brown recluse...

Moved from Nursery Web Spider. Any chance you can post a picture of the dorsal side of the spider?

Yes, P. mira
Great that you got the spiderlings also. Nice to connect the adult and the babies.

Definitely not
Brown recluses are reclusive; for the most part you wouldn't see them unless you were flipping things over looking for them. You are also well outside the geographic range of brown recluses. This is probably a nursery web spider (Pisaurina mira).
