Smilia fasciata
This is the more southerly of the two species of Smilia. Its crest is more rounded and has a broader pale stripe than in S. camelus.

that sure does look like the right genus to me, thank you both for pointing me in the right direction. shall i move the picture to said genus or leave it here with the hope someone will be able to place it in one of the two species.
