Condylostylus eating an thrips -
Condylostylus
Bristol, Sullivan County, Tennessee, USA
July 10, 2013
Size: 2-3 mm
It's taken me years to get good shots of this species. Their reaction time is faster than a camera flash.

Eating a thrips
It is eating a thrips.
If your camera has an option to select manual flash setting, you could use that to avoid the metering flash that makes
Condylostylus
jump.
This is
Condylostylus comatus
or
crinitus
. If you have a clearer shot of the tail that may help. Males are distinguishable by color and ornamentation. Females are not.
