Spot-winged Glider - Pantala hymenaea?
It is not a Meadowhawk. Sympetrum perch horizontally and don't hang. The pictures don't show much detail. However, it appears that the abdomen is orange with bands and there are small dark spots close to the abdomen on the hind wings. It could be a Spot-winged Glider (Pantala hymenaea). Not definite by any means.

This one I had forgotten, but it was in an area normally thick with meadowhawks. I appreciate the detail you've provided and wish I'd had more to offer on my end. Three of us shot the ode; none did very well.
