Male Cow Killer? - Dasymutilla occidentalis - male

Male Cow Killer? - Dasymutilla occidentalis - Male
Seminole, Seminole County, Oklahoma, USA
July 11, 2013
Male velvet ants buzzing around the front yard for the past 3 days. We commonly have female Cow Killers, so I assumed these were the males looking for the females. I've not seen any females as of yet this year.
