Moved from Sexton Beetles.

Nicrophorus carolinus
This Burying Beetle is Nicrophorus carolinus that is reconisable by the lack of transverse impression on the pronotum.

By golly!
I see what you mean, Pierre-Marc. That pronotum is smooth as a baby's behind.

Tasteless
Or maybe not. If I caught a carrion beetle in my beak, I might stick it somewhere too, and *leave* it there! Then I'd take a big swig of mouthwash :-)

Yeah!
At least the fly enjoyed it.
