Leaf-cutting bee - Megachile mendica - Female
Springfield, Virginia, USA
July 10, 2004
This is a picture I had forgotten about, which I took with my old camera. It's a leaf-cutting bee, perhaps a Megachile sp.? Any help identifying is appreciated.

Moved

not brevis
perhaps mendica

tergum 6 is concave in brevis females

Megachile brevis?
Looks like Megachile brevis, female, a generalist transcontinental visitor of a variety of flowers.

Yes
Definitely a female Megachile sp. Lovely shot, can even make out the pollen brush on her underside.

Megachile
Thanks for the quick ID, Eric!
