Chyrsomya is what I'd thought. (I'd meant to say "Hairy Maggot" in the title, which I've now corrected.

 
I figured
That is what you meant.. but it is what I think also, I have taken soooo many photos of them, I have seen them on the same twig in my back yard for over a year, except for the last week or so because now I am finding a robber fly perching there now! I think they packed up and left! LOL
