Tiger Moth - Genus Apantesis
Looks like a Tiger Moth of some sort in the genus
Apantesis
. Try browsing through there and see if you can get it down to the species.
Good luck!

Oops.
Er... I just noticed that you've already got it narrowed down to the
Apantesis
genus. So, I guess I wasn't of much help. If you can spread the forewings so that I can see the hindwings and the top of the abdomen, I can probably get it down to the species for you.

Apantesis sp.
Bill---
Thanks for the help, but the specimen is gone. I gave it to the neighbor kid to share with his class.
