My guess:
Something in the gargantuan Leaf Beetle Family, Chrysomelidae. I'm sure one of our beetle experts can narrow it down much further. In the meanwhile: do you know what kind of leaf it's on? A great many Chrysomelids are very specific about what kind of plants they eat, so knowing that can sometimes help to distinguish between similar-looking species.

Beetles were on an Oak leaf
I checked today the the leaf is from an oak tree similar to the oak leaves where I found the wasp galls. Today there were no beetles to be found.

If on oak...
If its on oak then it is probably Paria opacicollis. This genus's species are apparently pretty host specific. Would recommend moving to a new page for this species. Great find.

reminds us of the beetles
we currently have in the guide under Paria fragariae-complex - Strawberry Rootworm. Sounds like it is actually more than one species. Images in the guide

The beetle looks most similar to the first one shown -
except for the length of the antennae. Should I move these pictures to the guide under Paria fragariae-complex or just wait yet?

Or you have discovered the first Chrysomelid-species ever with only 4 segments on its antenna or the antenna have broken of. I wonder why...what would have happened to the poor beetle
