Velvetbean Caterpillar Moth - Anticarsia gemmatalis

Velvetbean Caterpillar Moth - Anticarsia gemmatalis
Beverly Hills, Citrus County, Florida, USA
October 1, 2006
Size: Approx. 35mm wingspan
Seen by the light of an apartment complex entrance around 11PM. I'd originally thought this was a Geometrid but it's a Noctuidae.

... one of the most common moths in the south between now and the end of the year. Comes in an amazing variety of colors and markings. I think I found them on the windows of every Waffle House and highway rest area we stopped at.

Anticarsia gemmatalis
Many thanks! I'd been searching for an exact match of the markings, which is what had me confused.
