Fifth instar larva, 17 days old. Out of 50 eggs, only two survived to pupate. Caterpillars of Eastern N.A. by David L. Wagner says the pupae overwinter. In this case, two females eclosed on 9/4/06 and 9/06/06; they laid eggs and were released.
