Smeared dagger moth at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens (DCP40) - Acronicta oblinita

Size: 2-3 inches
Kenilworth is an area with a bunch of ponds. This was on plant in water. Several of these caterpillars scattered about but not on same plant. Appreciate help with ID.
