Palpada alhambra? - Palpada alhambra - female

Palpada alhambra? - Palpada alhambra - Female
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 2, 2013
This syrphid was spotted on California Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum var. foliolosum) in coastal sage scrub at the Claremont Colleges' Bernard Field Station. I think is Palpada alhambra, but some related species look rather similar, so I'd very much appreciate confirmation or correction!
