Strange Pod on Dill Plant

Strange Pod on Dill Plant
Micco, Brevard County, Florida, USA

Size: 6mm
At first I thought this was some lost caterpillar. Now I realize that it hasn't moved and is hard. It is teardrop shaped with tiny spines and a brown pattern on the top that looks like a sad face.

The second image is a strange link.
We thought it would take us someplace in BugGuide, but it took us out on the web someplace with tons of advertising. Seems like it would be nicer if you simply posted that image to BugGuide and linked the two instead.
