skiff beetle? rove beetle? - Eusphalerum

skiff beetle? rove beetle? - Eusphalerum
Dolores/Mancos Ranger District, Montezuma County, Colorado, USA
June 26, 2013
Size: 2mm
Collected in a pitfall trap. So naturally i would say it would be closer to a rove beetle since there are no nearby water sources. Help? I just need the family for senior thesis research.

Moved
Moved from Ocellate Rove Beetles. This is a female - in some Eusphalerum species they have elytra prolonged like this, in most they go straight across. They feed on pollen so are usually collected in flowers. A revision of the North American species by Adriano Zanetti should be coming out (this year?) in Insecta Mundi.

Rove beetle..
I would think rove beetle for sure, the elytra on most rove beetles are ended with a straight across edge. This one is quite different.
