Black-winged Dahana - Dahana atripennis

Black-winged Dahana - Dahana atripennis
Gainesville, Florida, USA
October 21, 2004
On Ageratina. Possibly one of the Zygaenidae, by the general shape? About 12 - 15 mm.

Dahana
How about Black-winged Dahana, Dahana atripennis?

Right
I think Bob's right...I photographed one of these in Georgia last month. (1) Nice shot!

Thanks!
I did my best to browse the pictures but I was concentrating on the wrong family! Through a quick web search I just found out the larva feeds on Spanish Moss - I put a link on the info page.

Family
I don't know enough to guess what family I'm looking at :) ! I just start at the beginning of Covell.

Looking forward to getting a copy
- it's supposed to be back in print by the end of this year.
Used copies are going for $125 online!
