Spodoptera sp.

Spodoptera sp.
Lakeville/Farmington, Dakota County, Minnesota, USA
August 3, 2013
Size: mature larvae
I can't decide if this is Spodoptera ornithogalli, Spodoptera latifascia or one of the other species. I found it feeding on Kalanchoe in the greenhouse, and here it is enjoying a slice of apple (they really are generalists!) Since I found it in the greenhouse it's hard to tell if it came in from outside or if it was imported on a shipment of cuttings from who knows where (the grower thought the kal cuttings come from South America, but wasn't sure).
