Andy Hamilton sent me a note confirming the species, and that it's the first record east of NY.

Correct on Fulgoroidea
But not a Delphacidae. It does not possess the hind tinial spurs characteristic of that family. If I were to guess (and this is just a guess) I would say Derbidae. I could be wrong, though.

 
Derbidae - poss. Omolicna
Looks to me to be in the Cenchreini in the genus Omolicna, most likely O. uhleri (Ball), based on range. This may be a new genus and species record for MA. Anyone care to confirm this?
