Coupled - Erpetogomphus compositus
Embudo, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, USA
August 6, 2013
I startled this pair as I hiked up a steep trail and they flew off together. I noted where they landed and followed, not sure what I was following

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

White-belted Ringtails
Erpetogomphus compositus. Really nice shot.

Clubtails
In a mating "wheel." The male (top) clasps behind the female's head while she hangs on to his abdomen and brings her abdomen up, etc. Very distinctive dorsal pattern. Should be an easy ID for for someone in the know about Western dragonflies. Great pic!

not sure what it is
just wanted to say this is a great photo - photographing dragonflies is very frustrating if I remember correctly.
