Red Bumblebee Bombus sp. - Bombus rufocinctus

Red Bumblebee Bombus sp. - Bombus rufocinctus
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
August 7, 2013
I am familiar with Bombus ternarius and see them regularly in my area, but the red in this specimen is not restricted to a band in the central portion of the abdomen and extends across the entire bottom half of the abdomen. I am not sure what to make of it. Help identifying this bee would be appreciated. I found this while walking among cattails and loosestrife in a dried up marsh.
