Grasshopper with mite - Xanthippus corallipes - male

Grasshopper with mite - Xanthippus corallipes - Male
Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park, Nye County, Nevada, USA
June 16, 2013
fairly large grasshopper with bright orange mites attached.

male "Red-shanked Grasshopper"
I'm curious what color the wings were? I'm going to guess red, but they could be orange or yellow here as well.

Moved from Short-horned Grasshoppers.

I don't recall
the wing color, but I should probably start taking notes of that! Thanks for ID help.
